Building XMail is (usually) an easy process. 

Do the following:
	
	If you don't want XFace support, just type in
		make.xmail

	If you do want XFace support, we have included
	a version of xface with xmail. To build it,
	type in.
		make.xface


To Install:
-----------
 On many systems, you will have to "su" to root in order
to install the xmail program and resource file.

do:
	su
	make install

	
Troubleshooting:
----------------
	     
First, look into the Imakefile and check the following:


1. Does the DEF_MAILER path exist? This is how Xmail gets your
   mail from the system .. if the program isn't there, then
   xmail won't work...
	Usually mailers are at /usr/bin/Mail
			       /usr/ucb/Mail
	or		       /bin/mail

Make sure this is valid. If its not, change the DEF_MAILER to
point to your mailer and rebuild xmail.


2. If XMail come up, but stops working and the status line
   says "Establishing Connection", this is most often caused
   by the xmail looking in the wrong folder ...
   In the Imakefile, check the MAILBOX_DIR to make
   sure its valid. On many systems, your mail will be
   kept in:
			/usr/spool/mail/<user_name>
			/var/mail/<user_name>


If you have compilation errors, please check your system to
make sure you have the X windows libraries and include files
installed properly on your system. You may need to obtain
XPM (which can be FTP'd from ftp.x.org under /contrib/libraries

If you still have trouble, please send EMAIL to me with the errors
that you're getting and the kind of machine that you're building on.
